This is a special meeting of the City Council to make the major approvals for the project, including the EIR. AS&R is awaits posting of the EIR for this meeting, as the last EIR presented by the city had language that seemed to indicate that environmental mitigations, such as bicycle connections to the community-wide bicycle network, might not be undertaken if deemed “infeasible”.
This fun and entertaining workshop is taught by one of our bicycle safety instructors certified by the League of American Bicyclists. Learn basic rules of the road, how to share the road with cars on busy streets, equip your bicycle, fit your helmet, use transit, and avoid crashes by riding predictably, visibly, and communicating with motorists by your actions and signals. No bike required.
It’s FREE, but please preregister here

The East Touchdown Plaza is a public plaza with an embedded bicycle map of Berkeley and seatwalls, a pedestrian promenade, art panels and new Bay-Friendly landscaping). There will be refreshments, display tables, a few events and tours of the new building. And, of course, Mayor Tom Bates will say a few words.

Helmets required for kids.
Be sure to pack snacks, water, and clothing appropriate to weather conditions!
