This is a special meeting of the City Council to make the major approvals for the project, including the EIR. AS&R is awaits posting of the EIR for this meeting, as the last EIR presented by the city had language that seemed to indicate that environmental mitigations, such as bicycle connections to the community-wide bicycle network, might not be undertaken if deemed “infeasible”.

Want to ride more but don’t feel you quite have the skills?
Here’s a FREE bicycle skills class given by Bike East Bay (formerly East Bay Bicycle Coalition.)
Learn basic rules of the road, how to share the road with cars on busy streets, how to equip your bicycle, lock your bike, fit your helmet, and avoid crashes by riding predictably, visibly, and communicating with other road users by your actions and signals. For adults and teens, no bike needed.
Every attendee will receive a free reflective vest for participating!

You may be familiar with Street Level Cycles from the free tuneups they offer every year at the Arts & Green Festival. They are a non-profit that teaches at-risk youth job skills that will help them transition into the workforce, as well as serving as a public bike shop (go on and use the tools yourself sometime!)
Thanks to the efforts of a committed group of staff and interns and generous support from the community, renovations are complete and our new public repair shop and newly renovated rental shop are ready to go! So join them on May 30th to check out our new spaces and our fancy new Public Bike Rental Fleet!

Got a bike that’s squeaking and creaking? The BikeMobile will provide free tune ups & repairs for adults and children. The BikeMobile can fix flat tires, adjust brakes and gears, and even replace broken or worn out parts like chains, seats, and tires. The only thing they can’t do is replace missing wheels or gears. While the mechanics work on your bike they’ll explain how to keep it running smoothly!Bike or no bike, everyone is welcome to attend to learn about maintenance, safety, and more! This is first come, first serve and space is limited.They will be set up on the patio on Marin Ave – come on over!!
