Have a gripe, an idea or some input about anything that would further cycling and pedestrian conditions here in Albany?
Then join us at our next meeting (every other month – odd-numbered months) where we discuss policy and projects, and talk about what’s going on in Active Transportation in Albany.

The racks at St. Alban's Church have gotten plenty of use already!

Plenty of bike parking at our meeting location, St. Alban’s Church!

Have something you want to talk about? Request an Agenda Item in “comments” (scroll down to the bottom for the next meeting).

Look forward to seeing you!

Here are some agenda items from Ken McCroskey. We may or may not discuss them all, so feel free to add your own ideas and/or suggestions in “comments” below.

*Buchanan/Marin Phase IV: Crossing San Pablo – The city has $600,000 for design and construction that expires at the end of 2019 (need confirmation). We need to push for this now. Create a petition?

    * Safe Cycling Routes to Schools and Fields (and bike parking there)
    * Use our new map (at poster size) to discuss with families optimal safe routes for their kids to bike to school and sports in Albany. This also ties-in with A. [2018/11 add: Ocean View re-houseing of students across town]
*HAWK Education and Discussion of modifications- Provide a printout of the sequence of the lights for reference, discuss then current state of signage and facility. Gather user impressions and reactions. Talk about short-term and long-term modifications.
*Local Bike Education Classes [2018/11 add: Family Cycling Workshop in March]
    * Kains & Adams Trial of Internal Two-Way Travel + Bollards – One diagram for discussion of the ramifications of internal, two-way traffic.
    * Gilman Interchange Active Access – Highlight Preston’s ongoing efforts, discuss plans, and solicit feedback. Show one or two diagrams.
*Check for Bikes Clings and Bumper Stickers, leg bands, BikeLink Cards.
    * Active Transportation Plan revision 2018-2019

That’s funny, Amy. There is no way we could possibly discuss all that in one meeting. I’m sure we will focus on the most pressing issues.
