Join the City of Albany’s Department of Recreation and a bunch of your fellow Rollers as we explore Albany by bike on Spring, Summer and Autumn evenings. Each of the events will trace different routes that pass through parts of Albany you may not have biked before. All levels of cyclists are encouraged to join.
The ride begins at 6:30 at Bikes on Solano at Solano and Peralta in Albany.
We ALWAYS need Ride Guides to help guide folks around town from the front, middle and back so if you’re a confident rider please come 10 minutes early and help your neighbors out!
Come a few minutes early to pump up your tires. Ride maps are distributed, and we take off in a big group. There are experienced cyclists to lead and bring up the rear. After wheeling about for a half hour or forty-five minutes we return to Peralta Park, just across the street from our start, for light refreshments, a raffle, and general carousing. Thanks so much to the Chelle, Eva, Liam and Brennen with City’s Department of Recreation & Community Services for organizing, printing maps and getting the FABULOUS RAFFLE PRIZES for riders!

ON SUNDAY BE SURE TO STOP BY AS&R’S BOOTH TO SAY HI AND TELL US WHAT YOU RECOMMEND!!
Stop by to participate in a variety of carnival games, and take in live musical performances by some of your favorite artists and DJs. Shop dozens of vendor booths for everything from jewelry to artistic paintings and home decor.
Immerse yourself in San Francisco Bay Area’s finest FoodieLand Night Market to eat, drink, shop and play. Featuring over 150 vendors, you’ll experience a variety of amazing foods and drinks, arts, crafts, games, and entertainment in one great location. Celebrate Bay Day with Albany Strollers & Rollers, Bike East Bay and Love the Bulb! Join a relaxed Bay Trail bike ride and walking tour of the Albany Bulb. Ride starts at North Berkeley BART, goes up to Point Isabel and back, and finishes at the 
Albany Bulb. We will check out some recent and upcoming Bay Trail improvements and end the ride with the opportunity to take a walking tour of the unique art and nature of the Albany Bulb. If you’d like, grab a bite at FoodieLand Night Market near Albany Beach (plenty of bike parking- bring a lock!) before heading home.

We’ll finally be able to cross from the East Bay to Marin!

Bike East Bay will lead a ride from Richmond BART to the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge for the opening day ribbon cutting ceremony, and you’re invited!
We will meet outside the Richmond BART station on Nevin Plaza starting at 9:00am and roll out toward Point Richmond promptly at 9:30am.
Bring your bike, water, and celebratory jazz hands: It’s going to be a party, and we are stoked to celebrate with you!

After decades of waiting and advocating, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge will FINALLY be accessible to rollers and strollers!
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is scheduled to be at 10am.
Bike East Bay is leading this ride from Richmond BART to the RSR bridge.

As usual, there will be coffee, food, swag, bike goodies in Bike East Bay’s famous Bike to Work Day musette bags, fun and lots of good conversation & information so come on down on your way to work, school, shopping or around town!

The City of El Cerrito WorldOne 4th of July Festival on Monday, July 4th from 11am to 5pm features world-class live music provided by WorldOne entertainment.
Vendor and information booths include every department in the City: Public
Works, Community Development, Recreation, Police, Fire. Information will be available from City-sponsored clubs and organizations including the Arts & Culture Commission, Environmental Quality Committee, Urban Forest Committee and so many more.
Food and drink are available for purchase. Live music and other entertainment is free and encouraged for all to enjoy.
Games, rides and face painting are available (for purchase).
New this year – a free “Family Fun Zone” will be set up for those with younger children.
Free bicycle valet parking is available, and biking to the event is encouraged.
Want to test your cycling, running and swimming skills in a low-key & fun setting, while helping AHS & AMS sports teams in the process?

Come on down to Memorial Park on Sunday October 16th for the first post-pandemic, real, in-person Albany Community Triathlon!
The Albany Community Triathlon emphasizes fitness and fun with a 400m (425y) swim, 10k (12 laps around Memorial Park/AHS) cycle and 2.5k (1.6m/3 laps) run.
There is also a “Super Youth” division for kids from 7-10 – 70m (75 yd/3 lengths) pool swim, 2.5 mile bike (1.6m/3 laps) and 1k (0.6m/1 lap) run.

Registrants will get fun swag while supplies last!
All proceeds will go to the Albany Athletic Boosters to benefit all High School & Middle School teams. In addition to the fund raising, this event focuses on fitness and fun.
If you have always wanted to participate in a triathlon, but felt intimidated at the prospect, this is the one for you. I’ve taken part in the RELAY – I did the cycling portion, and found friends for the swim and the run! It was fun rooting for my teammate during the swim, riding my bike, then rooting for my other teammate while she ran!

YOUTH DISCOUNTS for anyone under 18!
There is still a FAMILY & FRIENDS HEAT!
Parents, kids, spouses: When you register, you can indicate your desire to be in the same wave as one or more family members or friends. Then you can compete together & keep an eye on each other during the race (but not assist each other, per triathlon rules).
POST-RACE FESTIVITIES – Stick around after the race to recover with some healthy food, finisher awards, raffle prizes, massages, and schmoozing with fellow participants, volunteers, sponsors, and race organizers.
AS&R and Check for Bikes are excited to again be sponsoring the Albany Tri – supplying bike racks for the transition area and swag for the goodie bags. Other sponsors include Albany Community Foundation, Albany Ford-Subaru, Trader Joe’s, Blue Heron Bikes, TranSports and Bikes on Solano.
So come on down and get in on the fun!
