The Albany Peloton rolls down Peralta Avenue for another fun Bike About Town

Join the City of Albany’s Department of Recreation and a bunch of your fellow Rollers as we explore Albany by bike on Spring, Summer and Autumn evenings. Each of the events will trace different routes that pass through parts of Albany you may not have biked before. All levels of cyclists are encouraged to join.
The ride begins at 6:30 at Bikes on Solano at Solano and Peralta in Albany.
We ALWAYS need Ride Guides to help guide folks around town from the front, middle and back so if you’re a confident rider please come 10 minutes early and help your neighbors out!
Come a few minutes early to pump up your tires. Ride maps are distributed, and we take off in a big group. There are experienced cyclists to lead and bring up the rear. After wheeling about for a half hour or forty-five minutes we return to Peralta Park, just across the street from our start, for light refreshments, a raffle, and general carousing. Thanks so much to the Chelle, Eva, Liam and Brennen with City’s Department of Recreation & Community Services for organizing, printing maps and getting the FABULOUS RAFFLE PRIZES for riders!

Celebrate Bay Day with Albany Strollers & Rollers, Bike East Bay and Love the Bulb! Join a relaxed Bay Trail bike ride and walking tour of the Albany Bulb. Ride starts at North Berkeley BART, goes up to Point Isabel and back, and finishes at the 
Albany Bulb. We will check out some recent and upcoming Bay Trail improvements and end the ride with the opportunity to take a walking tour of the unique art and nature of the Albany Bulb. If you’d like, grab a bite at FoodieLand Night Market near Albany Beach (plenty of bike parking- bring a lock!) before heading home.

Here’s a FREE bicycle skills class, courtesy of Bike East Bay (with support from the UC Berkeley Police Department.)
Learn basic rules of the road, how to share the road with cars on busy streets, how to equip your bicycle, lock your bike, fit your helmet, and avoid crashes by riding predictably, visibly, and communicating with other road users by your actions and signals. Every workshop has the same content so you only need to attend once. For adults and teens, no bike needed.
Please note: All of Bike East Bay’s UC Berkeley classes are open to the public, but are also part of the BEST (Bicycle Education & Safety Training) program allowing ticketed cyclists to have their fines reduced.

For the first time ever, the Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival will visit the East Bay! The festival is a celebration of travel and human-powered adventure on wheels, and it is the only event of its type in the world. Proceeds from the event benefit the Adventure Cycling Association and Street Level Cycles.
From the frozen streams of the Himalayas to the sultry heat of Thailand, from a father and daughter sharing their first overnight outing to two Boomers finding love on an organized bike tour, there’s over a dozen films with something for everyone at this year’s festival. You don’t need to be a cyclist to enjoy these tales of adventure! Ciclismo Classico, the longtime pioneer in creative bicycle vacations, is proud to present this one-of-a-kind event.

Raffle Information: Ciclismo is generously raffling a $2500 voucher which can be applied to a specific Italian bike trip that Ciclismo will designate. Each admission ticket includes one raffle ticket. However, additional raffle tickets can be bought at check-in. One winner will be chosen at the film screening intermission and must be present to win.

We’ll finally be able to cross from the East Bay to Marin!

Bike East Bay will lead a ride from Richmond BART to the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge for the opening day ribbon cutting ceremony, and you’re invited!
We will meet outside the Richmond BART station on Nevin Plaza starting at 9:00am and roll out toward Point Richmond promptly at 9:30am.
Bring your bike, water, and celebratory jazz hands: It’s going to be a party, and we are stoked to celebrate with you!

After decades of waiting and advocating, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge will FINALLY be accessible to rollers and strollers!
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is scheduled to be at 10am.
Bike East Bay is leading this ride from Richmond BART to the RSR bridge.
