AS&R has confirmed that Street Level Cycles will be providing free
or low-cost tuneups at the Arts & Green Festival for the 5th consecutive
year! We are sure they will be busy, as always, because this year the
Festival falls 3 days before Bike to School Day and 4 before Bike to
Work Day.

AS&R has also confirmed Bua Luang as the sponsor for our free Bicycle
Valet Parking service. This is their third straight year of sponsorship
and we are grateful for their support!

June Bike About Town @ The Streets of Albany
Jun 30 @ 1:30 am – 3:00 am

Bike About Town ImageJoin the City of Albany Community Services and Albany Strollers & Rollers with sponsor Solano Avenue Cyclery as we explore Albany by bike on balmy Albany evenings. Each of the three events this Summer will trace different routes that pass through parts of Albany you may not have biked before. All levels of cyclists are encouraged to join us.

We begin at 6:30 at Solano Avenue Cyclery, at Solano and Peralta. Come a few minutes early to pump up your tires. Ride maps are distributed, and we take off in a big group. There are experienced cyclists to lead and bring up the rear. After wheeling about for a half hour or forty-five minutes we return to Peralta Park, just across the street from our start, for light refreshments, a raffle, and general carousing.

Dates this year are Fridays June 29, July 27, August 24, September 28 and October 26 (special Halloween ride!)

See you there!

Special City Council Meeting – Whole Foods project approvals @ NEW LOCATION - COMMUNITY CENTER
Jul 10 @ 2:30 am – 6:00 am

This is a special meeting of the City Council to make the major approvals for the project, including the EIR. AS&R is awaits posting of the EIR for this meeting, as the last EIR presented by the city had language that seemed to indicate that environmental mitigations, such as bicycle connections to the community-wide bicycle network, might not be undertaken if deemed “infeasible”.
