Join us for our Happy Hour at our usual location – Everest Kitchen – they generously offer us 15% off their menu, including drinks, and yes, they have plenty of bike parking! Appetizers will be provided courtesy of AS&R for this special holiday Happy Hour. This is our every other month (even-numbered months) informal get-together to talk about all things bike and ped in Albany. It’s a good chance to ask about what the city is up to and what our stance on issues is, and to meet others who are interested in issues related to human-scale transit/active transit.
Everyone is welcome.
Note that this takes place right before the special Transportation Commission meeting, and will also be a good chance to talk about anything coming up on their agenda.
Have something you want to talk or ask about? Put it in the “comments” section below! Hope to see you there!
This special meeting of the Transportation Commission Meeting is a great place to make your ideas known, find out about the transportation issues and projects in Albany, and help improve things for cyclists and pedestrians in and around our town. The Commission meets on this date in lieu of the regular November and December meetings, which are canceled due to holidays.
A topic of discussion will be ALBANY’S ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN (ATP) UPDATE. Community input is helpful to determine the direction of the revised ATP. Questions to consider: Should the revised ATP just be a list of capital improvement projects? Should the new ATP align specifically with city goals for reduction of carbon output? Should it include soft programs like education and enforcement? Should we roll in further consideration of Solano Avenue protected cycling facilities? What is the project budget?

The agenda will be posted on the City website here.
