It’s getting dark very early now so we all have to do more to be seen by drivers! That’s where AS&R’s latest safety project, our NEW REFLECTIVE LEG BANDS, come in.

Thanks, Laurent at Rendez-Vous, for supporting AS&R and helping fund our newest safety project! Photo courtesy Amy Smolens
Thanks to Rendez-Vous Cafe Bistro, who helped with funding, we were able to produce these 12″ long, reflective leg bands, to “keep your pant legs tight and you & your family bright” and allow us to ride and walk more safely as the days get shorter.
A suggested donation of $3 per band will help you be more visible to drivers when you’re riding and walking!

The drivers see my arm when I signal when I’m wearing this reflective band. Photo courtesy Amy Smolens
Contact Amy Smolens to pick some up for you and your family now! They make great holiday gifts, too!
Where can I pick up some leg bands and make a donation? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hi Katie – you or anyone else should please email me directly at calamari@alumni.duke.edu and we’ll arrange it!
Thanks!!
These things are terrific: Reflective Leg Bands! I actually bought 10 for myself and family around the holidays, and wear 2 sets when I’m out and about on the bike (one on each ankle, one on each forearm). Some other Strollers & Rollers report they find theirs handy when running or walking in the wee hours, too!
They are lightweight, and just “snap” in place quickly (and don’t come off or get lost on the road like the velcro type). Easy and convenient to leave around the seat-post of your bike as an additional reflector (and so where you know where to find them!).
A great use of funds and at $2 – $3 donation price, a very worthwhile investment! Thanks AS&R and Thanks, Rendez-Vous!
