Peter also noted, rightly so, that some of the website is out of date. For example, “Current Projects” included Safeway Remodel (so I deleted it.)

Signs are blocked by trees, faded, or non-existent
Ped path to avoid long paved loops has been created by users, people on Discussion List have asked for steps and Ken suggested at least one handrail
Amy met JoAnne Skinner at the Post Office. She is a scout leader (including Lucy Marten) and we discussed her troop taking on this project.
They could do signage and clipping on their own, path must go through CalTrans coz it’s their land.
Suggested JoAnne brings to Parks, Rec and Open Space Commission

Ones under freeway are a waste because the lot is closed weekends and evenings (Amy gets picked up there occasionally to carpool but it’s either a weekend or she’ll be coming back late at night so cannot use lockers.)

*MR DEWIE’S PARKLET BIKE CORRAL AND TABLES
Replacement racks have been ordered and should be installed by the end of the summer
Barriers are crucial so this doesn’t happen again (for those who don’t know, a driver crashed into the Bike Corral with her SUV and destroyed 3 of the 5 bike racks.)
Preston has photos of the barriers we would like to use – large planters, like the one in front of Eunice.
Preston will speak to City Staff re getting them to protect public infrastructure.
If they won’t do it, we’ll have to buy them ourselves (along with soil and plants) and install them
Harry is taking care of finances – paying for racks, getting reimbursement from insurance company

Preston got plans for improved tables for Parklet itself and will bring to Discussion List
It will be expensive so we’ll need cost-share. I suggested ACF and Ken will pitch it when we have a plan.
